Discrimination

Response to MIKE DEWOOD, He said that he had discrimination at Nagasaki where he lives, just because he is a foreigner. He said that “Not all Americans are discriminated against, but it is quite prevalent over here.” Do you know what kind of city Nagasaki? Nagasaki is the one of the place where it had damage by A-bomb all over the world. That is why many Nagasaki people don’t like foreigner.

Older generation actually experienced that their friends, family and partner were killed in war, A-bomb. Although they might understand that younger US generation have nothing to do with older generation in their mind, they have strong hated against US people. So they teach their children that US people is bad people and children is flexible so they absorb their thought directory. That is why many foreigners have discrimination at Nagasaki. Of course, as they grow up mature, they can understand what’s wrong and what’s right, so they probably never discriminate foreigner. However foreigner stands discrimination till older generation who hate US people die.

As for my case, I live in Hagi city. In terms of historical view, between hagi and Aizu which is located Fukushima prefecture had war and Hagi won this battle. Although it is for 200 years ago, still now Aizu people, especially older people don’t like us, discriminate us. What I want to say is that we should stands discrimination if there is reason, even if you don’t concerned about it directory, till it will disappear.

Interesting. In my own experience, the nicest I have ever been treated in Japan was in Hiroshima. Do you really believe all citizens of Nagasaki resent and despise foreigners?
